 Experimental - Learning

The subject of experimental learning has been of particular interest in recent years.  The idea that we can improve the methodology of learning techniques has been around for many years, however new technology and methods are starting to have a considerable impact.

There is however a controversy either - implicit or explicit that states we do not want to experiment with our children.  Therefore progress in the area of experimental learning has been considerably stalled.  The delay has meant we have had a slow evolution with regards to learning.

Some of the experimental methods that have been developed are tailored at providing children with various learning environments.  For instance, there is a new thought process that says placing children with learning disabilities with other children - those with "normal" learning abilities together.

Another more widely accepted notion is that learning methodologies are doing away with rote memorization (like math times tables, spelling, etc.) The learning methodology is moving more towards teaching children real life skills like using computers and calculators.>
