Four years ago I was shipped out to Don Guan province to Shenzhen by my
employer. I was to spend three weeks working with a group of engineers to get
our product just right. I had known about the trip for about two months and was
a little apprehensive because I didn't have the first clue about speaking
Chinese.
First things first, there are two versions of Chinese. There is Mandarin spoken
by the people in mainland China and the version I was supposed to learn. The
other version was Cantonese which is the version spoken in Hong Kong. I was
working with Hong Kong engineers who travelled to Chen Zhen (in mainland China)
so I wasn't sure which version I had to learn. It turns out it really didn't
matter since the folks there often spoke both versions. At least the folks I
worked with. My decision at the time was to learn Mandarin since it was to
mostly spoken version.

After I decided to learn Mandarin, the next challenge was how to do it. I
searched bookstores and the internet extensively coming up with a wide array of
products. Some were uterly lousy but others were incredibly fantastic!
In the end I decided to stick with && because it worked best for me. However you
might find one of the other packages equally effective. One option you have is
to utilize the Free software trial most reputable software packages have. This
way you can try it and if it works well then you can decide to buy it. >
