Learning strategies have changed in the last few decades but the premise of all education is essentially unaltered. For starters we still find it necessary to group people in a classroom setting and instruct them as a whole. The luxury of one-on-one training cannot be realized at least not without the onset of intelligence based computer software but then one on one training with a computer isn’t necessarily the best environment for training. A classroom learning center offers the pupil the opportunity to interact with people and important life skill that shouldn’t be taken for granted. My wife works as a grade 1 teacher and each year she ushers in a new classroom of kids. Is it no wonder she can instantly tell which children have had experience interacting with other kids (i.e. daycare)? These children have the advantage of being able to interact with other children. The ones who haven’t been to daycare or who were watched in a household with only a few (one or two) other kids, usually are timid and shy away from wanting to learn.

Technology has had an incredible impact on helping address individual children needs. Besides being able to tailor the course material to individual needs, the computer can also be used by the teacher to keep track of a child’s progress in the learning center. But technology is only as good as the trainer or teacher. If a trainer is unprepared to devote the curriculum to individuals, but rather directs the lesson to the learning center as a whole, then learning bias kicks in. Those who have mastered the skill of the classroom will excel whereas those who haven’t will unfortunately fall behind.
